1. What whoami is

whoami is a guided self-reflection experience operated by RK TECH LTD. You answer a series of questions; an artificial-intelligence system (Anthropic’s Claude) then writes you a personal letter based on your answers. You are interacting with an AI throughout the experience, and the letter is AI-generated content. Under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act) we are the provider of this AI system; our AI transparency notice sets out what it does, how its output is marked, and what it must not be used for.

2. What whoami is not

whoami is not medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is no substitute for professional help. If you are struggling, please talk to a professional or call Samaritans (UK) or the EU emotional-support helpline on 116 123.

3. Age

whoami is intended for adults. By using it you confirm you are 18 or older.

3a. Permitted and prohibited uses

whoami is licensed to you for your own personal self-reflection. You may not use it, or its output, to make or inform decisions about any person — including yourself where the decision has legal or similarly significant effects. In particular, the following uses are prohibited:

• recruitment, selection, evaluation, promotion, task allocation or dismissal of workers, or any other employment or HR purpose;
• admission to, assignment within, or assessment in education or vocational training;
• assessing creditworthiness or establishing a credit score;
• risk assessment or pricing in life or health insurance;
• eligibility for public benefits or services;
• any clinical, diagnostic, forensic or law-enforcement purpose;
• administering the journey to another person, or to anyone under 18;
• automated or bulk use, resale, or incorporation into another product or service.

These uses would place an AI system in the high-risk category under Annex III of the AI Act. whoami is neither designed nor conformity- assessed for them, and putting it to such use is a breach of these terms — and would make you the provider of a high-risk AI system, with the obligations that follow.

4. Price and delivery

Answering the questions is free. The final letter costs a one-time fee of £12 (or $15, A$23, €14), charged in your local currency at checkout and payable via Stripe. The price shown is the price you pay — nothing is added at checkout. RK TECH LTD is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged; should VAT become chargeable in future it will be included in the price shown, not added to it. The letter is generated and delivered immediately after payment, to the same device and browser you used for the journey.

Where it is sold. The letter is not currently offered for sale to customers in the European Union, while our EU VAT registration is completed. The journey itself remains free and open everywhere.

5. Right to cancel

The letter is digital content delivered immediately. During checkout you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you thereby lose your 14-day right to cancel (UK: reg. 37 Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013; EU: Art. 16(m) Directive 2011/83/EU). If something goes wrong — you paid and received no letter — contact us and we will fix it or refund you: connect@rktechs.io.

6. Your content

Your answers belong to you and stay on your device (see the Privacy Policy for exactly how they are processed). We claim no rights over your answers or your letter.

7. Your recovery key

With your letter you receive a recovery key. Your letter is stored sealed with that key, which we never receive and cannot reconstruct, so keeping it safe is your responsibility: if you lose both the key and the device holding your letter, the letter cannot be recovered by us or by anyone else. This is a deliberate consequence of the privacy design, not a fault. A stored letter is kept for up to a year after you last open it.

8. Fair use

One payment unlocks one letter (with retries if generation fails; a generous per-payment limit applies to keep costs sane). Automated access, scraping, or attempts to extract the underlying prompts are not permitted.

9. Liability

The letter is a reflection written by an AI from your own words. It may be imperfect or incomplete. To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence; mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
